Better than online shopping...

...is having a wonderful taxi driver friend who will do my shopping for me! I have just telephoned him and asked him to please get me a load of carcasses for Pereg from one of the poulterers in the shuk, plus a load of vegetables from whichever fruit/vegetable stall he thinks is best.

Of course he could have come here, put my little scooter in the boot of his car, and walked Pereg round on the lead while I buzzed about the shuk, but in this heat? No thanks, I prefer to stay at home with the air-con on, and I am sure Pereg would agree with me!

Lazy? Nah, just sensible!

You mean like June and others want to borrow Nir, my "does-everything-and-does-it-well" guy, now you want to borrow David to do your shopping?

David did actually suggest going downtown to the shuk when he collected us from the Vet on Sunday, but as Pereg had not eaten because of having been starved for the blood test I just wanted to come straight home.

He knows what I want and where to get it, and it is so much easier for both Pereg and me to let him buy it while we sit here in the semi-reasonable cool.

Cool? I have the air-con on [OK, so not on very cold as the lecci bill would shoot up] but it is still extremely warm in here. The rest of the house is baking though so I can imagine how hot it is out.

I do not "do" heat very well...
