Loss of appetite in 4 year old pug

Hi everyone
I am very concerned about my little guy.
He has recently stopped eating his usual food ..he drinks to excess and pees in the house. In all other ways he is still the same little guy .
I have tried boiling some chicken up for him today , and he ate most of it but he hasn't properly eaten for two days prior to today. He has also ben straining to pooh and it comes out very hard.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance

Update.
I took my guy out for a wee before we went to bed and the first part of the wee seemed to have a frothyiness to it. I have just gone into him this morning. There is a big puddle of wee and a small amount of chicken that he has sucked up?

Been to the vets this morning. He has had to have blood work .
The vet is thinking its either kidney or diabetes. we are just waiting for the results .

So sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will be able to keep him comfortable for as long as he's got.

So sorry to hear this especially in such a young dog. I do hope your vet will be able to help you manage the condition, so that he can have a happy and comfortable life. Best wishes to you and hugs for the little guy.

Our little guy has been on fluids overnight . They said the main thing is he needs to eat. And the good news is he has eaten with a hearty appetite this morning his uretha and cretitine(??) Levels have gone way down. They are keeping him on fluids till this evening to see if the levels go down further and we should be able to bring him home. has anyone else had this happen and what happens now
