Yogi ~ Perfect In Every Way – 2yo Fawn Deerhound x

YOGI

**UPDATED: JANUARY 2013**

Location: Kennels in Suffolk, UK. Yogi would love a foster home while he waits for his forever family.
Key Points: Just perfect! Friendly, gentle, mannerly, calm, walks to heel, travels well, dog savvy.

Form an orderly queue! The delicious Yogi is an approx. 2 year old deerhound x boy who has come to us to find a loving forever home of his own. He is a big squishy scruffy lovebug with huge soft eyes and a lovely fawn coat.

~ Personality ~
Generally: Super friendly, cuddlebug, gentle, engaging with people.
Yogi is really just fantastic. He is affectionate and very friendly but in a quiet and calm way that is very typical of sighthounds. He loves to be loved, but doesn’t demand it and is very gentle. Yogi really adores people and is always hoping for a cuddle. This boy is going to be just fantastic, and would be a really great dog for a first time hound owner as he has no vices to speak of.

~ In the Home ~
Generally: Has lived in home before with no problems.
Yogi is not currently in a home, but has been in a home environment in his past. This combined with his natural laid back nature means we expect him to settle quickly into his new home without much fuss. Yogi was housetrained in his previous home, and is also clean in his kennel.

Yogi loves his food and is very responsive to treats, an excellent training device. He would love to do some fun activity with his new parents, such as perhaps agility or heelwork to music.

~ Other Animals ~
Generally: Very dog savvy, enjoys their company, would enjoy living with other dogs.
Yogi has been really great with all the other dogs he has met. Really nothing fazes him. He is very happy with canine company and appears to be dog savvy and social. He is polite when meeting new dogs and will accept invitations to play if offered. He is not cat friendly. Yogi would enjoy the regular company of other dogs and may slot extremely well into an existing pack. He could also be a fantastic, laid back companion for a resident pooch.

~ Out and About ~
Generally: Walks to heel, calm, very social, loves everyone, excellent in the car.
Out on walks, Yogi remains simply fabulous. He is calm, polite, gentle and walks to heel. He really loves meeting new people and making new canine friends, and is a real delight to take anywhere. After some work has been done on recall and bonding with his new owners, Yogi is suitable to be let off lead in safe areas away from public roads.

In the car, Yogi settles excellently, in fact the motion of the car tends to send him right to sleep! We can't stress enough what a fabulous boy Yogi is, he is ready and waiting for a home to call his own. And what a lucky home that will be.

~ Where Am I? ~
Yogi is currently in kennels in Suffolk. He can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a homechecker available, but please note that you may be required to travel to our rescue to meet him.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Yogi is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. This dear boy would benefit so very much from a chance to live in a foster home and Kerry Greyhounds UK is always eager for new foster volunteers. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.

If you are interested in adopting or fostering Yogi, you can contact me (Tam) via email, or speak directly to Bronwen by phoning: 075 000 62648. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs.

There are application forms for both adopting and fostering Yogi, and we will ask you to fill the relevant one in as the first step in the adoption/fostering process. To speed up this process, we recommend you do this before emailing/calling. You can find the forms, as well as further information on our homing & fostering procedures, on either the Adoption Page or Fostering Page .

Thank you.

~~ KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK ~~

Kerry Greyhounds UK is a voluntary organisation based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spread over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).

We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK. If interested in one of our hounds, please feel free to contact us.

Hiya, Yogi is being rehomed because his owner refused to build a fence!! Yogi could walk out of the garden into the local golf course, and the people there called the police on him.

He has shown himself to be nothing but excellent in every way since we've met him. We're hoping he doesnt have to wait long.
