New Additions!!

Hi All,

Well along with the usual hassle of everyday life in Birmingham with 3 furry loons and an 8 year old Son who behaves more like a canine than they do, over the past few months we've added to our animals family.

Firstly, many of you know my 3 loonies.

Zane (DOB 25/12/2007) - almost 5 years old

Yiannis (DOB 31/10/200 - almost 4 years old

Jenzi (DOB 07/01/2010) - almost 3 years old

About 6 months ago we unfortunately lost our hamster. Oscar always took care of him and wanted another so a few weeks later we had a new, long haired, Syrian Hamster (with attitude!!)

Fuzzle

A few weeks ago, a friend of mine asked if I would foster a hamster because the family were emigrating the following day. Well how could I say "no". So here he is.

Fizzle

We also have a Siamese Fighting Fish.

Ketchup

Finally, about a month ago, the lollipop lady outside Oscar's school couldn't look after her budgies and asked if Oscar would like them. I'd have called them "Lemon" and "Lime". You can see why. But no - Oscar names all of our animals (as you've probably guessed already).

Joey and Annabella (Bella for short)

Joey used to talk and say his name. Now he's definitely hen-pecked and has the good sense to keep quiet. It is a shame though. Bella is really bossy. It's like watching a little old married couple.

Enjoy!

Very sad to let you all know that we lost our older hamster, Fizzle today.

He'd had food and water early this morning but when I came to clean out his cage this evening he seemed to be asleep. He wasn't where he usually sleeps though and when I lifted him up it was clear that he'd already died.

Such a shame that his family left him (we had him via Leafy Shade Rescue) but I'm pleased he came to us. I hope we made his last few weeks as comfortable as a hamster's life can be.

He was a very old boy when he came to us, so we knew we wouldn't have him for too long. I would've liked for him to have been with us for longer though.

RIP baby Fizzle xx

Aw what a lovely family you have. What a shame about Fizzle.

RIP wee fella, run free at the tiny Rainbow Bridge for our smaller family members who wait for us there.

Sorry to hear about Fizzle's demise I use to have hamsters when my boys were young - well they were meant to be theirs but of course they were really mine, along with guinea pigs, fish, dog etc. I was so upset when Tiger (hamster) died as he was such a character and he was nearly 3.

You have a wonderful 'gang' of animals and your dogs are gorgeous I also love the name 'Ketchup' for your blue fighting fish

Well after Oscar was so upset about Fizzle (who is now buried in my Mom's back garden), we have today added a new hamster to our "collection" of animals.

He's 11 weeks old, jet black, male and he has attitude - far too much of it!

Oscar has called him "Jet" but I think "Flump" fits quite well.

I'll post piccies later.

Please say hello to our new addition.

Jet, aka Flump.

Jet, aka Flump.

His ears seem huge compared to other hamsters we've had. I did wonder, until I looked closely, whether he was a large mouse instead, but nope. He's definitely a hamster.

Also, we're used to the long haired hamsters and he has short fur so maybe that has a bearing on sizing and proportions. Also, he's only just over half the size of our other hamster. Really cute though and hasn't bitten either myself or Oscar yet.
