I'm now an official groom

im so chuffed!!

at hope valley show yesterday, i was asked to be an groom for the shire team i show for

yesterday consisted of me plaiting up 5 tails, being kneed in the head, stood in the rain for hours, carting boxes and bags out, feeding 5 horses, talking constantly to people who ask how big they are, correcting people who seem to think every shire is a he because they are so big so i definitely earned it!

so now im an official groom, should be at every single show, helping get them ready before and after and helping with foaling

im well happy

Fab, it's great when you get real enjoyment out of something, especially when some serious hard work is involved!

i love it, its so good to be part of such a team! on monday we got:

1st baron mare
1st yearling
2nd 2 year old
3rd brood mare
1st colt foal

then overall champion and foal champion to boot

got a huge list of things i need to buy though! best get going

thanks, i wanted to get some yesterday, but with the 5 horses i just didnt have time, we really didnt have enough hands yesterday for one to be spare with a camera

thank you im so happy. my life has gone from being at a pretty low point, not doing what i want in work, being stuck at home etc.. to be hardly ever being at home, loving my new job at the kennels and now being a shire groom driving lessons start again next week so that should be another one to tick off the list
