Dillon (BMD) first hydrotherapy session.

He was not amused. He has another 10 sessions booked the physiotherapist doesn't mind if he does the pool or the water treadmill so if he doesn't get on with the pool next visit he will be doing the treadmill.

Looking around.

Getting used to the life jacket.

Eeekkk in I go.

Not keen on this at all.

Can I come out yet ? No oh ok then.

Oh bless him! His expression in the third picture is wonderful, especially after the way he eyed the water in the first one. xx

Aw bless, he wasn't happy with that, was he? How about you?

I'm sure he'll get used to it with some more sessions.

Funny enough not to bad it has to be done and they all feel because he is young with the right exercise and the hydro he should not have problems in later life. It is a little upsetting as he doesn't seem to like it but they said most get use to it.

We thought he had cruciate damage so were referred to the RVC (Potters Bar). Knees fine but they did pick up mild hip dysplasia. They asked if I wanted hips x-rayed while they did the knees. They picked up a slight sway when he walks. He was rested for a month when we thought cruciate so he lost a good deal of muscle. The physiotherapist confirmed that it made a significant difference to his muscle mass not exercising at such a young age. He is very optimisitc about the outcome after hydro and us giving him the right exercise.
