Daisy - Young Jack Russell in Oxford

Daisy is a 15 month old small Jack Russell and is currently on foster in Oxford.

Dog status: Good with smaller dogs, can be overwhelmed by bigger dogs she does not know.
Cat status: Will chase, cannot be rehomed with cats or small animals.
Child status: Good, could be rehomed with children aged 5 years plus who are used to dogs and would give her space to settle in
House training: Perfect
Home alone: Can be left for a couple of hours but can bark at first. Not suitable for full time workers.
Basic training: Walks nicely on the lead and knows the basics. Would relish further training as she is a bright and inquisitive girl.




Daisy's foster carer has described her as the 'Pocket Rocket', she is small but perfectly formed and likes an active lifestyle and the chance to be out and about on walks. She is full of fun and character and is sure to charm everyone she meets.

Daisy is well socialised with people and loves everyone she meets. She is a friendly and affectionate dog. She could be rehomed with children over the age of 5 years if they have lived with or spent a lot of time with dogs before and will not crowd her when she is settling in to the home.



Daisy will be looking for a new home who have owned a dog before and are aware of consistent training and boundaries. She is a typical terrier and likes to get her nose in to everything. She also has a high chase drive and will not be able to be rehomed with cats or small animals for this reason. She is currently being walked on lead only by her foster home due to her natural chase drive. Recall training will need to be undertaken carefully and slowly to ensure safety. We only endorse positive, reward based training.
Daisy will need a home with a secure garden, though she may be too small to jump over fencing she could squeeze through gaps.

Daisy is living in a foster home with a gang of other terrier types and has been good with her foster brothers and sisters. There have been some possession issues around people where she has tried to stop other dog's approaching while she has been resting near, or getting affection from, her foster carers. They are working on this and are seeing great improvements but this is something anyone with an existing dog would need to be aware of and consider carefully when looking at taking her on. She can also be exuberant in her play style and nip dogs legs when they are running with her.
She can be nervy and bark around large, strange dogs that she meets out on her walks.

Daisy can be left for 2-3 hours and has settled down with her foster brothers and sisters to snooze. She can bark a bit at first but does calm down. She would not be suitable for a full time worker as she does love company and activity in the home.

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered (if over 6 months), vaccinated, flea treated, wormed and micro-chipped prior to adoption. If a puppy is not old enough to be neutered then this must be carried out at the owner’s expense when old enough, and the relevant form completed by the vet and returned to Hope Rescue.
