Rediscovered Badminton

Hehe, so David's support worker in our Core Group Meeting on Thursday suggested Davie might like to try badminton cause it's not such a strain on the problem he has with socialising.

Yesterday she text me and suggested she would try him with it today before taking him to the school club on a Thursday. Great I said, then she went on to suggest I went with them...

I REALLY enjoyed it, I completely forgot how much I like badminton, I used to play when I was about 19/20 in the local club near my parents house but with one thing and another I stopped going. Well, today I've rediscovered it, so I'm busy hunting for a local club near here so I can start up again.

Although, my shoulder and wrists are killing me from the hour I played today with Laura (she's the support worker)!

Wears me out just thinking about it....

Although I played footy and rugby - I always enjoyed badminton when I was a bit younger.

I know it's not the real thing but I recently bought a badminton set for the garden (for Hannah) and it wasn't long before i was pining for a real game.

The village hall which is just over the road has started a badminton night and I quite fancy going.

The nearest club to me is on the same night as the Cadets, so I can't go, the next nearest is 10 miles away and it's just too much petrol each week for a sport. Boo Hiss.

I hate sport as a general rule and i'm hopeless at playing it but I did love badminton and was ok at it (better than tennis which I hated with a passion!)
