Chickens

Hey,

We picked up 15 ex-battery chickens last night and i've managed to get some pics of them today! Some of them are in fairly good condition, and theres a couple who are in terrible condition! But they're all really happy and friendly and they're doing well!

Anyway, here they are:

A nice looking one with a not so nice looking one..

This is Dilys! She's probably the worst one but she is SO sweet!! She'll eat from our hands and she runs up to us when she sees us!

And look at the presents they left for us this morning.. Two eggs!!

Well done for rescuing the chickens! I buy my eggs from a farm shop on way to work where i can see the chickens roaming around yard and they taste infinetly better than shop bought ones!

Thanks all

We've been wanting some chickens for years as we have a nice big garden and plenty of space for them. When i heard about the rescued battery chickens (from Jackiew ) we decided to go for them instead of buying 'pedigree' ones! Its strange to think that if these hens hadn't been rescued they'd be dead now as they're 'too old' They still have a few more years left so hpefully they'll be very happy here for that time

Jeanette - Thats Chloe wandering around! We took the puppies out to see them on leads and Riley went mad, whimpering and leaping!! Wont be trying that again for a while!

I miss my chickens! They will be loving the grass and doing their little wiggle dance! Well done! If i can keep the house and not move in the next 6 months, I am going to get more chooks!
