The name Fern...

OH asked me the other night whether Fern was the right name for our GSD...so thought I'd ask what you thought...

For the past 12 months I've known our predestined GSD was to be called Fern but now a shadow of doubt is flickering across my mind

I feel like I keep repeating myself with this story, but I guess another time won't hurt - the name Fern was chosen by selecting one of NZ's native plants, the silver fern.

Hey thanks Murphy - appreciate you saying that it was you - would have wondered otherwise

Appreciate the honesty of it - I thought Fern sounded feminine at first but then I thought well it's a plant's name so how could it It is a soft sounding name for sure which gives it that feminine sound.

Our pup is massive from what we've seen so I think it might be hard to think he is a girl unless he prefers to squat than lift his leg

Thanks for your thoughts though, something to consider for sure, appreciate it.

xi

I could call him Punga but I think I might draw too much attention yelling that out

how about adding a bit to fern like fernly for example .. they sounds more boyish imo and you still get to keep the fern
or fernnie /ferny
