I've had a terrible time with my parents this year which resulted in them deciding not to come to our wedding, in their opinion our small ceremony on a Scottish beach with close family and our dogs brought disgrace on the family, they had thousands set aside for a big white wedding and a guest list of hundreds. A few months down the line my father said to me angrily, 'You'd rather have your dogs at your wedding than your own parents', well yes i thought, they've been here a lot more for me than either of you have for a long time, I know who i turn to when I'm down, who I cuddle or trust to cheer me up!

So imo, dogs can give you a lot 'more' than some people!

there are days when i feel that way but not often, i have met a few people who would fully agree all the time and i find them to be awfully sad and lonely people IMHO.
