Dog has tendinitis in her front leg. How to helpher get better?

Our dog is 16 and has tendinitis in her front leg. She has to go up and down stairs to go out. She has never been crated. What is the best way to help her get better? I try to carry her up the stairs but she is a chow and sometimes won't let me pick her up Also is there a specialist type vet we can take her to?

Thank you!

You can always ask for a referral to a specialist from your vet.

The treatment of tendonitis can vary from steroid injections to operating but also massage, ice packs and ultra sound therapy.

Bearing in mind her age you may wish to discuss the less invasive options with your vet and get a referral to an ACPAT physiotherapist etc.

Good luck

From experience, good physiotherapy and hydrotherapy can really help a dog recover from this.
