Follow on from Dizis post, do you lock the car whilst driving if the dogs are inside

This is some thing that pops into my mind periodically, while I'm driving I get a vision of the boot door suddenly opening, and feel sick at the thought of any of my 2 falling out on to the road...
I flick the lock on most of the time if I'm driving with them, a habit I got more into as my wee grandson grew.
Has freak accidents like that happened ?

I am paranoid about it too. Always lock the car door now even if the dog is not in there.

I automatically lock the car doors (central locking) every time I get in, basic security, for me and the dogs.

No, i never do. If the tailgate were ever to fling open then i have a tailgate guard which would stop them flying out of the car in the seconds it takes to pull over.

Nope. I would be phobic the other way - have had an accident that knocked me out for a bit, If the car was locked no-one would be able to get in!
Dogs are crated for the most part in mine. (Van)

Yep, firemen and the police always wait for a passenger to open the door in the event of an accident..................

Hopefully - but I would rather they had the easy option of being able to open the door!

I would hope that any central locking would still enable people to get out without too much trouble in the event of an accident.
While Mum was in the Van today - she leant on the lock and triggered the central locking - It actually made me feel very trapped. I Hate the feeling of being locked in like that!!
