Mia had her first whole pray food!!

Walking in the woods today and I saw somethng in the grass and a couple of crows close by

We got pretty close before the object jumped into the air and turned out to be a lovely giant bird of pray (not sure what it was but really lovely)

As we were passing the place he had been I seen it was a baby rabbit he had left there, he had plucked the fur and opened the tummy

Mia has caught and carried rabbits before but she usualy just hides them when she is bored so I didnt think anything of it

Till she settled down to munch it!!!!!
Afraid I didnt think swapsies for a bit of kibble (espech when I had Ben there too who might go in and nick it) so I left her too it
She loved her rabbit meal and ate it - skin fur and all

Any ideas where I can get more whole bunnies that I can freeze for her? prefer her not to have them out in the wild like that

Speak to your local shoot, clay shoot they often have people who lamp, that is where I get my rabbits from.

Remember you will need to worm more frequently if you allow wild rabbits into the diet.

Are there any gun or country type shops near you? Might be worth putting an ad up on their notice board to see if there is anyone controling rabbits. I'm sure they would be pleased to have an outlet for them.

Was the bird a large, brown one? Buzzard?

Also have a look in Yellow Pages for companies that do rabbit pest control. Quite often these are ferreters and will probably have rabbits to spare.
