Deaf dog

Just wondered please if anyone can give advice at all. Have just started sitting/walking an older dog who is deaf and trying to be mindful that the dog is, things are going well but would be very grateful for any tips or things to be more aware of
Many thanks
H.

Second that and would also say that Barry is a great fella who is quite happy to discuss any concerns you may have. He is what I consider to be the expert when it comes to deaf dogs.

On a more immediate note, it's worth noting that dogs are excellent at adapting to handicaps - far better than us mere humans. Just be clear in your signals to him and use your body language and hand signals more than your voice to help him out.

Good luck and enjoy the pleasure that these guys can bring because they are very attentive if encouraged to be so

My old girl is deaf .
She gets by ok..
Make sure there are no suprises .
If your coming up behind him or when he is asleep..
She depends on ozzie a lot ,she reacts when he does .

Thankyou for your replies, have had a quick look at Barry Eaton's website(will read more later) and am grateful for all your help. I've never looked after a deaf dog before so is all new experience.
