Finally ready but so hard with people charging extortionate prices

Hiya all,

I am finally ready to start looking for a new pub after Keila sadly passed in September.
I forgot how hard it is, I have decided I cannot look for another Rotti yet as I still feel I would be replacing her but in time maybe will get another just not now.

I am looking for a little dog now, maybe something like a Maltese, Bichon, Yorkie, Chihuahua or something but are these people for real or what £600 for a Chi x Pug or crossed with Jack Russell WOW these dogs are mongrels and prob about 6 years ago you would pay no more then £80 for them in a rescue.

Sorry just venting xxx

I would advice researching smaller breeds and decide which breeds it most suitable for your situation.

Also would you consider a rescue dog?

I agree, some of the prices are extortionate, especially for the 'designer' breeds!

How about looking at a rescue? I see you're in Wales, what about looking at Many Tears? ( http://www.freewebs.com/manytearsrescue/? ) They have lots of fosterers dotted around Wales and also have lots of smaller breeds such as Bichons, Yorkies, Chis looking for homes

I am def gonna look in the rescues, our other dog Fizz came from a rescue in Cardiff and she has been fantastic. Just think this 'designer dog' malarky is beyond and stops people getting a dog of the breed just for the dog, they now buy them because they are 'the in thing' what happened to the saying a dog is for life ay xx

Very true, I think the saddest thing about these designer breeds is that 'breed' specific rescues are being set up already for them left, right and centre

Good luck on your search, we all know these rescue dogs take love and loyalty to a new level, well done xxx
