Hi Jackie

A few years ago,a family used to live nearby with a Rottie and one of her eyes had a discharge. She ended up having an operation to correct and eye lid fault, which apparently is quite common with Rotties.

Ask your vet about this because i cannot remember anymore about it-sorry.

Better to pamper than neglect!

Jackie is it greeny coloured or a sort of translucent gunk ?
My dobe gets very snotty eyes especially at this time of year -I bathe them with cooled boiled water but if its greeny then its an infection

Jacs ..I think Steve may be talking about an op for entropian (turned in eylashes that rub on the eye and irritate it ) ,
For now I would make up a saline solution (Boiled water 1 pint to tsp of salt) this is a similar composition to tears and will help combat infection, wipe the eye gently with this. I would still see the vet soon to get it checked
out.

Teagan always has runny eyes, and the vets told me it's nothing, just runny eyes!

When Kingsley had a sore eye, vets told me to bathe is with milk
