What are you reading this summer?

I've got two weeks off coming up and during that time i plan to relax, do not a lot and read a few good books.

I currently have four unread books in the house and can't decide where to start. They are as follows:

* In The Dark by Mark Billingham
* The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon
* Fear The Worst by Linwood Barclay
* Under The Dome by Stephen King

At the moment i'm edging towards the Linwood Barclay books as i've read a couple of his other books and have found them to be brilliant and also struggle to put them down so reckon i'll clear that one in a day or two!

But then i'm lured in by Stephen King's latest "Under the Dome". It's a pretty thick book but he is a brilliant author so i reckon it'll be another that i can't put down.

Has anyone read any of these and if so are they worth reading?

If not, what are you reading this summer?

Is that Dan Brown's latest one? I think my OH read it and said it was nowhere near as enjoyable as Angels and Demons or Da Vinci Code.

OH just bought The Lost Symbol yesterday but if you like thats sort of thing he just finished A Sam bourne one (it had a beige cover and wasn't the righteous men) and said it was great.

My next two reads will be Night falls on Ardnamurchan (waiting for the Library to get it back) and Hector's story (will have to buy that - both about life growing up in a croft and the hardships endured etc

Just reading 'Pig Island' by Mo Hayder which is making me a little uneasy...
To read I have Scarpetta Factor by Patricia Cornwell and Silent Scream by Linda La Plante, also have Persuasion and Mansfield Park by Jane Austen to read...

I like Linwood Barclay too, they are very easy to read.
You would like Karen Rose if like them, she is similar

I've been reading Michel Faber.

Sort of sci fi meets realism in a weird way. "Under the Skin" is the one I have just finished.

Keep meaning to re-read "Wuthering Heights", although I have read it a thousand times, it's still one of my all time favourites.

I enjoyed the "Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time". Unusual but good.
My Daughter has given me The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson and the next two as well to read on my hols. Apparently they are difficult to get into but then unput-downable.
