Fish oils?

Does anyone feed their dog fish oil supplements?

Which, why and where from!!

Lots of evidence suggests that fatty acids are good for cancer (or rather good for fighting cancer) and these are widely found in fish oils.

I bet there are loads of choices out there, can anyone suggest anything?

Zeke is on a natural diet, 40% meat/fish, 40% proteins and the rest carbohydrates and fat.

Thanks in advance xxx

I feed mine sardines in oil once a week and then every other day I feed them Super Solvitax cod liver oil capsules or oil. It makes their coats lovely and shiny and is good for joints too.

For thier coat and skin I give a couple of mine Salmon oil from Fish4dogs.

The other are not on it as they are on the salmon food anyway.

I have found it to be very good. I think CSJ do one as well.

Salmon oil all the way! Stay away from Cod LIVER oil, as its high in vit A and dogs can tox out on it easily. WHole fish oil is the way to go.

Ours have Kronch Salmon Oil, have used it for about 10 weeks. It is great and they love it. As well as the omegas having health benefits they have fantastic coats - Greg used to be an itchy dog but since starting the SO he doesn't itch anymore...

Fish oils are probably beneficial for coats, joints, etc., in the longer term. It is easy to give it with the "oily" fishes - the sardines, herring, salmon etc. and your dog will enjoy it if it is in "food" form - better than a pill or oil. Hope you are things are going well with your lad and his therapy is helping.
