Aww what a little sweetie. Will you be getting a friend for him? Is he vaccinated as there have been quite a few outbreaks of myxi? I have a bonded group of 6 bunnies so am another real fan of bunnies

No, hes intended as an only bunny (for now). Oh thanks for the pointer I didn't know they needed vaccinating against myxi, but I will ask my vet about that on Friday as hes going in for a full health check anyway (they said to leave it till then to give him a chance to get settled and get used to being handled a bit more first), is it an annual vaccination like with dogs? How is myxi transmitted is it direct contact with infected rabbits or can other animals carry it?

Myxi is spread by mosquitos or fur mites or rabbit fleas. It can be with direct contact with an infected bunny too. If your bunny is vaccinated they can live but if not there is no chance. It should be done every 6 months but most vets if there has been no local outbreaks will leave it 12 months. Other vaccine is against VHD. Hope that helps.
