South Devon is a sad place today

There was a huge fire in historic Dartmouth yesterday.
Many old, timbered buildings have been gutted.

My daughters friend has lost everything, his home and all his possessions. He was way for the weekend so the one good thing is his dog was in kennels. He is just so thankful she is safe.
So much history lost.

How very sad.

I'm so glad your friend's dog was safe, but awful to lose everything like that.

Aw that is so sad I have fond memories of Dartmouth having stayed there in a lovely hotel in 1985 with my then small son the year after my husband died.
