Dog Life jackets?

Does anyone use a dog life jacket?

I'm thinking of getting one for Monty to see if it will encourage him to swim a bit more.

Can anyone recommend a good make or suggest whether it's even a good idea?!?

Ours have them!

(very good customer services here, they arranged to have them next day delivery for me)

We only use them on small boats, not big sea boat trips! Ours are nervous swimmers, Zeke's legs aren't what they used to be if we ever did capsize in deep water ....they HAVE toppled in before now

I'm not sure if it will encourage him in the water more mate, some dogs just don't like swimming.

Essential for boating holidays though -

yours looks a better fit than ours Pidge? Maybe a more expensive jacket? Ours are not very fitted and stiff, but loosening up the more they are worn....

It's a great fit but yes, it was expensive. That's what I meant Esme about it possibly not being worth it. See what others say though ;o)

Ours was from here - http://cart.jackpaws.com/index.php?p...d=105&parent=9

Thanks for all the advice guys. Am going to look into those websites.

I'm not too worried about the costs as i'm fairly confident it will give him that extra confidence he needs in the water. He loves to play in the water and i think if he could get that confidence then he'd love swimming as well.
