Pet passport

Has anyone used a pet passport to travel with your dog?
I am planning on moving to canada [from england] with my fiance and our border collie boy.

Any advice on the process and COST?
any help appriciated peeps x

each country can have different requirements,
it takes 6months to complete and to be able to return to england with your dog,but as long as the passport is kept up to date,that is the only waiting time once done.
check canada is part of the scheme first.
vets charge different amounts but in london a passport is around £250 (that is not an' export')

My 2 girls have Czech passports so it was a lot cheaper and came in with the cost of purchase and keeping from when they had their vaccinations which total time is 7 calender months. They have vacs, 1 month later blood test and providing titre levels are okay 6mths later they can enter UK.
Obviously entry to Canada is different providing the dog comes from a rabies free country such as the UK.
There is no waiting period imposed between the time the animal is vaccinated for rabies and the time the animal is imported into Canada.

If you are moving to Canada then your dogs will not need to fulfil the pet passport for this country, that is only required if you intend to return with them. Contact the Canadian Embassy to find out what requirements you need to fulfil to get entry into Canada with your dogs.
