Looks like we have a mouse! (and I didn't invite him in!)

I have just been emptying the bins around the house and found a nice hole in the wicker one in our front room!

I know we had a mouse a while ago but had seen no evidence recently so thought he had gone. He has obviously decided that he is coming back to visit....

I apologise in advance to all who have pet mice, they might wish to leave the thread now!

I will be putting down a couple of traps tonight to see if I can remove him from the premises!

If you know where they are coming in a bit of cotton wool soaked in oil of peppermint is a deterant. Make sure it's oil of peppermint though not peppermint essence.

If the traps don't work, I'll lend you Stumpy -she loves to hunt mice. She doesn't kill them though, so you'd have to find somewhere to let it go.

Hope you get your wee visitor evicted one way or another soon.

You want Scorpio, she has a good aim with a teddy!

We get them in the garage. So I buy humane traps, wine and dine them, then take them in the car to the nature reserve on their permanent holidays.

Where they may well get eaten by the barn owls lol

LOL Becky - Yep - ours went onto the Bolehills about 5 minute drive away to be eaten by wildlife!

My mum got a kill trap for ours but I broke it... by accident of course

We tried all sorts of humane devices but none worked - they were way too smart (even chewed the legs off of one so that they could roll it over and get out) until they chewed a hole in the top of the dog food bin, dropped into the bin, which was empty with only crumbs in the bottom and couldn't get out again

Since then we've had a plug in and no sign of meeces
