One of the most important articles you will ever read...

This was written in light of the terrible 'Pedigree Dogs Exposed' program - and I think it is not only 98% spot on (there are a few niggles I disagree with), but absolutely vital that it is read by as many as possible.

Why are you posting a link to a breeder wesite? Is there a point to this?

Not sure what you mean... it's not a breeder website...

It says it belongs to a corgi breeder. Nothing against corgi breeders personally, but I can`t see anything earth-shaking on there. There`s a lot of personal opinion - like where she says that the Ridgeback ridge is a `cowlick`, not a spine deformity. It seems to be saying `there`s nothing wrong with pedigree dogs like Bassets, Pekingeses and Bulldogs. ` Really????????

Well, I'm afraid I agree with a good 90% of what is written in the article.

Sorry, gotta agree with MaryS on this one, read the article, but it reads like a un-scientific rant that all the dogs are fine when clearly Basset hounds that can't walk and have constantly infected eyes and pugs and Pekinese that can't breathe without surgical intervention surely suggests otherwise.

There will need to be more and better researched information out there before I for one will change my view on extreme pedigree breeding.

I would hardly call it uninformed... but you are of course entilted to your opinions, as am I to mine.

Sorry I have to say, even I, as someone who thinks the programme was horridly biased, thinks that this is just material designed to defend bad breeding practices. We should be moving forward to better breeds and make them more healthy, not try and pretend there's nothing wrong in the first place.
