Bandits op /result update, and sporting his new look!!

Ok, jus tto update you on Bandits results of his biopsy and operation,

First the tumor is an orbital meningioma which in its self is slow growing and usually benign....and rare ..according to the specialist and my vet.

They have removed the eye and as much as the tumor as they can... but it has spread to the muscle area around the eye.. it is to invasive to remove.

Radiotherapy is an option, and although meningiomas usually respond well to this.. they do not have enough data on orbital ones... in any case it is not an option we will take... to much is involved , and has no guarantees of success or longevity.

We are hoping that as it is slow growing, it will buy him time... it is something we can only guess on... but as long as he is comfortable he will be OK... and it will all depend on where the tumor puts pressure on as it grows, as to what comes next.

here he is sporting his new look... and as you can see(which is another blow) the wound is not healing well... it could be just as simple as it not knitting, or as my vet is worried over.. the tumor that is left is not allowing the new tissue to heal.

We have to see him next week to see how it is going... the last thing he needs is to have it reopened to close it up again.

Anyway, here is my beautiful boy , still as handsome as ever , dont you think.

Definitely still as handsome as ever..if anything, it gives him a very distinguished look

Fingers crossed that the wound starts to heal - it doesn't actually look too bad in the photo, but of course you can never really tell from a photo.
