Idiot Kid, Idiot mother...one angry owner (me!)

ARGGGHHHH!!!

So I've just walked through the middle of town with the dogs. Dogs are walking too heel, beautifully then I spot the kid. She is stood in the middle of the path, eyes locked on to the dogs (as kids do) so I walk around her..

Only for her to hit the puppy on the back with her umbrella.

So I turn around and immediately look straight at the kid and say quite sternly NO, YOU DO NOT HIT MY DOGS.
Her mother who is chatting to a friend ACROSS the road then shouts to the kid "Fleur!" then giggles a bit.

Well then I let rip didn't I... I approached the mother and asked her if she thought it appropriate that her daughter had hit my dog, not only that but she shouldn't be touching strange dogs. I point out that the kid could have been bitten and if it were the other way around and I hit her kid with the umbrella she wouldn't be too impressed....

Then the kid comes up behind me, points her umbrella at my dog as if it were a gun...an inch away from his face... I look at the kid, I look at the mother then back at the end then Shouted "you touch my dog again, I'll let him bite you"

She burst into tears... I walked away....

Home now and feeling a little ashamed. That kid couldn't have been more than 4.

You should feel ashamed ...
Shout at the mother not the child...

In 25 years time she will be in a councillors office telling them about the day a mad woman who made her cry in the street ...

Is puppy ok?

What is this world coming to! I feel so cross for you!
She might be only 4 but she should know better! If she was a toddler or something then yes fair enough, but at 4 she should know right from wrong! The mother should also be watching her child, especially around strangers and strange dogs!

The puppy is fine luckily, I'm angry because this dog belongs to a coworker, not that I would feel any different if she were mine. I was just "socialising" her in town, I bought the rest of the dogs home and went out again to sit on a bench for more positive experiences.

My blood pressure is sky high right now.

I spoke to her (the child) like she was a total idiot. I can only imagine what the gassing women had to say about me when I left!

Yes...I've irish blood and my pregnant... Could have killed her. Both of them!

The mother left her 4 year old child across the road doing god knows what? She's blooming lucky she only had a very cross dog lady telling her off, she could have turned back to discover her young child missing People are idiots, it wasn't your place to tell the child off but the mother wasn't going to do it was she If I were that mother I would have been thoroughly ashamed of myself for letting my child do that and me not knowing or seeing it to intervene or stop her/him before anybody else had to

If my child hit a persons dog, and the owner gave the child into trouble, i would be right over telling the CHILD to apologise straight away. And i would of course apologise myself to the owner.
