Edging and laminate flooring

We've put down some laminate and left expansion gaps. Because it's not really seen much we've decided to go for the option of leaving on the skirting boards and covering the gaps with white edging.
But now we have a problem:

We have one inward opening door and it opens right onto a wall at about 90 degrees. We're shaving off enough for clearance but with the edging there it might not open properly.

Is there anything other than this raised edging that can be used or can we shave down the edging a bit?

Steve's your man in the know LS, hopefully he'll be along soon.

I see you finally decided between wood and laminate

Thanks Ingrid. Yeah we went for a heavy duty oak laminate that's textured - a compromise on price between laminate and wood. Took us long enough

With a new baby on the way, a good choice for keeping the house clean quickly - excellent

Exactly! We'd been looking at carpet but with the dog hair as well thought this was a better choice. We're going to do rugs too though.

There is another option to using timber mouldings when concealing the expansion gap LS-cork.

Cork blends effortlessly with most timber/laminates and is flexible enough to withstand the expanding/contracting which happens.Bond it to subfloor using Evostick (so hoover dont suck it up) and you'd be hard pushed to know it was there.

A single pack of cork tiles will give you more than enough to edge round an entire room and just arm yourself with a sharp stanley knife/straight edge to cut the strips (and mind them fingers!).
