Hi Tigger snorting can also be caused by an object like a grass seed being caught in the dogs nose, the snorting usually dislodges it. An allergy to substances like pollen can cause it too.
Is kennel cough contagious?
Kennel cough (usually caused by bordatella) is infectious and is passed on when one dog inhales airborn droplets expelled by an infected dog.

Pickles does this all the time and apart from stroking the throat you can try placing both fingers over the dogs nostrils. This, apparently, makes the dog breathe through it's mouth and thus stops the reverse sneezing!

We had a thread about this sometime ago as I was worried about Cassie. Seems quite common in a lot of our dogs. Gentle stroking of the throat tends to stop it. It usually happens when she's been sleeping.

My old boy used to do this all the time, so does Harvey occasionally, but not heard Archie do it..yet.

I was told years ago to do what has already been mentioned, and that it so cover the nostrils and it stops instantly.
