Heating gone for a burton

Just had our six monthly or yearly (not sure which) maintenance check on our boiler for our gas central heating (council owned house). The fella has discovered that the condensation thingummy isn't working cause a seal has gone. So it's been leaking water and carbon dioxide into the cupboard.

We've been getting leaks of water for ages and said before but no one bothered. Thank goodness this fella did.

The only issue is we have no heating tonight, and possibly till Tuesday if he can't find the part he needs. Not only that the gas heats our water too! He did say there is an emersion switch but didn't specify where it was. Fingers crossed he has the new part he needs tomorrow!

Oh poor you - I hate it when anything goes wrong with the heating/hot water.
BUT on the bright side - you are getting it sorted now and it is not winter time !!!
Hope it is fixed sooner rather than later
