Growing garden plants

A couple of days ago my new mini greenhouse arrived
http://www.activegardening.co.uk/min....php#4tr_multi

Yesterday I put it together, today we are making a home for it in the back garden - and once I have finished planting in the rockery, I will be planting up some seed trays, placing them in this little gem - and hopefully see them grow away!

I've also got some cuttings that I want to make of some of the older shrubs in the garden - and once they have taken, I can dig up the old woody shrubs and plant anew.

Seed wise I am trying to grow lavender, sunflowers, marigolds, cranesbill , aubretia and nasturtiums.
Wish me luck!

I do love this time of year in a garden.. and now my coffee break is ended I'm off out there again.. with my little helper who loves the great outdoors

Good Luck I wish we had never parted with the green houses when we moved here, as I would love to have one now

Got the mini greenhouse planted up, two geraniums, a fuchsia and seven seed trays

Got one third of the rockery planted up with the plants I had already bought. Will do the rest from seeds and cuttings.

watching all the while was my little supervisor

I now feel an afternoon nap coming on

WOW! What a brilliant idea, Pat!

The plants look just fab - think I might recognise them as they are the same ones in my pot from Shona that you kindly did - those ones are growing nicely at the moment - they love the sun

well spotted Vicki - the smaller ones are the same as I put in your pot from Shona. They are sun worshippers. Glad to hear yours are doing well
As you know, that's a big rockery - and for me to plant it all from bought plants would be costing an arm and a leg -hence the seed trays and growing the seeds on.

Looking good Pat
Can I just give you a tip from experience?
I have put 2 paving slabs on the bottom shelf of mine because even though it is in a sheltered spot if there is a strong wind it soon blows over, so needs weighting down.
I have had one of these for the last 10 years or so. I never buy bedding plants I grow all mine from seed.

Great minds think alike!

I was just about to say please weight it down! So many people on my gardening forum have had their mini g/houses blown over and all their seedlings destroyed.

Use bricks or paving slabs and make sure it's secure and heavy!

thanks Nippy and IsoChick - checked in before going to bed - so hubby and I have just been out, I cleared the bottom shelf and for tonight we have put a big bag of multicompost on it. That's quite heavy. Tomorrow we'll swap it for some paving slabs. Thank you for your help
