Planning permission for dog kennel

Maybe a silly question, but do I need planning permission to put up a kennel?
Possibly 8-10' x 4'

I wouldn't have thought so , it's no bigger than a shed and you don't need planning permission for a shed

No, should be fine. I have a Cat pen in the garden, 6ft wide by almost 10ft high.

You might want to check out the minimumm distance from the boundary rule.

I'm almost sure it won't apply to you but I recall reading that any new structure must not be closer than 1 Mt. from the fence line.

...... Losos is right, although I think it might actually be 3mtrs?, and also 15 feet from the main house. If you live in an area of "Outstanding Natural Beauty" like I do, the rules are totally different, you can't do anything without planning permission!

You'll be ok if nobody shops you or phones the planners about whatever you put in your garden! Other than that, it would take a visit from the planners on something else when they'd notice it, so do what you want - I do!!!

And Hev, you've seen how much you can get away with, even if someone tells the planers on you (think of next door to me).....
