Irresponsible breeders

New to dogweb but I've been reading the forum for a few weeks now. Me and my fiance had our staffy bull pup about 5 weeks ago now. He's 10 weeks old, and yes that means he was only 5 weeks old when we had him. Long story short, we paid a deposit for Biff and were told a week later that the sire's owners had come and taken him as there stud fee's as the stud had since been ran over and they were upsetat the loss. As the advert we responded to said deposit secures, and also the fact that he was only 5 weeks old, we created a bit of a storm (understandably), amongst others the RSPCA were informed for the safety of our pup even if it meant we would never see him again. Later that day we received a phone call from the breeder saying they had got biff back but the mother would not accept him so could we pick him up that night, we disputed that and said we wouldn't pick him up until he was ready, ideally 7 - 9 weeks, going from advice we'd received. We were given an ultimatum, and considering in the middle of all of this the fact that the pup we'd set our hearts on was being pulled from pillar to post we decided to take him away from these irresponsible people and hand rear him for 2 - 3 weeks. Both of us took time off work to do this.

As it turned out the sire hadn't died, and also Biff hadn't even been re introduced to his mother to even check whether she would accept him. I then rang the RSPCA again to explain the circumstances and to take advice on what we should do with Biff. They explained that it would be fine, so long as we spent a lot of time keeping him warm and well fed. He is now growing really well, and is the most sociable little bundle of muscle I have ever seen. Despite the trauma he must have gone through, and the frustration me and my fiance have been through we still think we did the right thing, especially as we have Biff with us and have seen him grow so quickly both in size and confidence.

I'd like to know how I can get some pictures on here to show how much he has grown, and also because he's really good looking and I'd like to show him off to everyone. So could someone please let me know how I can get them on here? I have some on my digital camera at home and I've somehow managed to get one on my desktop at work. Where do I go from there? Hope everyone's still awake after all that.

Did I miss something here. Did you not have a issue with the breeder. Am I the only one thinking this breeder should not be a breeder?
Maybe I did miss a post but the message I got was this breeder is a nark and wants to be stopped, is that not what this thread is about. who is the breeder???? Why is everyone ignoring your question and just giving a welcome without reading your thread?

There wasn't actually any question in particular that I asked anyone, just letting people know the problems we went through and how irresponsible these people were. When it boils down to it they were, to put it as nicely as I can, undesirable. We'd been undecided for a little while as to whether we were going to have a dog, and it would always be a staffy, but all along we knew we'd have to have one, as me and my fiance have both been brought up around dogs. Then when we got round to looking we used our local newspaper. We responded to the ad which said, good pedigree 1 bitch 1 dog deposit secures ready Aug 24th. Once I spoke to the woman on the phone I knew she wasn't the sharpest and this was their first time. After going to see the litter we couldn't believe how big biff was for almost 4 weeks old. We saw the bitch and the owners of the stud allowed us to see him, both were great, as were the other two pups (1 of which they were keeping) so at no point did we think they were negligent towards their pets. After the fiasco they admitted it was their first time and said never again. Obviously in it for the money. When we looked back over it all it was obvious that they owed these people money, and that when they called round for the money they took biff when they couldn't pay up. Then came the phone call to us saying if you dont pick him up by 6 tonight he'll go back to the people who took him. At the time I thought lets just take our deposit and run (they did offer that back), however we couldn't forget the little pup we'd fell for, so thought lets just take him away from these down n outs and give him what he needs and deserves. We never had any intentions of showing him or using him as a stud, and the temprement of the bitch and sire when we saw them was fine. Both the stud and the bitch are KC reg, but the litter weren't registered. Again we didn't let that put us off cuz he was perfect for what we wanted.

Anyway got my perfect dog, and my digital camera at the ready so I'll try get some more pictures up here asap.

this is Biff last night, he's 10 weeks old on saturday.

Had a hard day - 7 weeks old here.

Loves his rag - last night this was taken

Loves sleeping like this, and the bed he's lying on is appropriate, it says lazy bones on it.

Sitting good because he wants to go outside.

Its a happy ending which is all that matters and your pup is beautiful. Loved the fact he has 3 white paws & 1 black. Havent a clue why I was taken by that its things like it that makes the decision on which pup to have if they havent picked you that is!

Because the thread was in the introductions section, and that section is only for welcomes, not debates or discussions as per the rules - so everyone replying was just sticking to the rules.

Anyway, I've split the thread here now

Hi Biff He looks a lovely little chap and I am glad it has turned out so well, you could have had a lot of problems because the puppy missed out on being socialised with his mum and litter Sounds as if you have done a great job with him
