Visited Mum today (update)

She is looking really well and was touched by all the good wishes sent to her from all the good Friends on Dogsey.
she says they replaced her hip and she was in the operating theatre 4 hours.
My Brother has to ring in with the measurements for his seating and bed she will be sleeping in and then it seems she can come home, although she isn't walking yet just sitting out bed in a chair with her legs elevated.
She must be feeling well as she was moaning rather loudly about the poor lady in the opposite bed who keeps everybody awake at night, think her mind is going had to remind Mum she is lucky that her mind is still as sharp as a pin and the poor woman can't help it.Sometimes they really embarress you as they speak so loudly.
But loooking good.

Thats great news, sounds to me like she's almost fighting fit if she's moaning

You and your family must be so relieved, I'm so glad she's going to be home for Christmas.

Thats brilliant news, sounds like she's well on the mend.

I've seen so many come through such a brilliant operation (home care co-ordinator here). It's amazing what they can do nowadays that would've been a real problem a generation ago.

So now you have a bionic Mum!

They probably want the OT to see if she will need bed or chair raisers (to make it easier to get up from) or other bed equipment. Just make sure she doesn't try and help and do too much when she comes home!

Great news Lynn. It's true about the moaning though - it's a sign that all of us are feeling better when we start to whinge!
