We came to my parents house xmas eve and are still here now. the dogs are very laid back and are used to being ferried around [lol] so are very happy to be here with all the hustle and bustle that xmas brings. they all had their own presses to open in amongst what the humans had so were very happy doggies indeed!!

Mine loved Xmas Day and were stars on Xmas Eve when we were at my mum's and they had to be confined to a couple of rooms (with loads of toys and breaks for pees/earscratches etc) because of my brother's allergies... unfortunately my witch of a cousin showed up, proceeded to brag about how her daughter drags the cat around the house by its tail and tortures the living daylights out of it (like this is something you BRAG about?!), and then announced she was taking the aforementioned kitty-torturer to say hello to the doggies (note announced, not asked)... well Nancy said hello with her usual lick (which she had been warned about!) - and kitty-torturer didn't like that and ran away back to the living room with a severe case of wounded pride!

They were fantastic on the day itself though - although the cooker door did appear to become dog TV as they lay outside the door and stared at the progress of the turkey throughout... considering this time last year Layton was still in the pound and Nancy was in racing kennels I was expecting a much more fraught day than we got.

Sorry to hear Tilly had such a rough time When Molly was struggling with having people in the house, family get togethers were so stressful! Sometimes accidents are difficult to avoid and maybe you just have to chalk this one up to experience. You did your best and that's what counts

Thankfully we didn't have anyone over for Christmas so Molly had a lovely relaxing day with just me and my mum Lots of present opening and food eating and then a nice long walk in the evening once everything had quietened down! The only bad thing was sharing a bed with her on Christmas night - the smells she was making were horrid!

we went to my mums and Bruno came, so for him its different place same outcome, my mum got him a new tuff toy so lola chucked that about for him, we took his bed as he hates her floors as are all marble floors, but he just had his fill of dinner, crawled into bed and went to sleep - a usual day for him. Think he enjoyed today much more as we went on a 4 mile walk we hadn't done before and he is pooped !!! snoring his head off on his bed

Dexter had a whale of a time! He got presents and treats, and spent the day being very excited and playing, aswell as helping me smell my new bubble bath . Then he got two turkey wings for his tea which he got to eat in the living room with us...he was a very tired boy after and was falling asleep stood up with his head propped on the sofa. He ended up fast asleep on my knee

So sorry to hear about Tilly...poor soul xxxx hope your dad's hand is ok.

Well ours loved it, firstly all the pressies, they had 3 trips up to the horses and had great fun in the fields. The day was mainly just 3 of us, but evening brought visitors and the dogs had the run of the house, Mojo played PS3 with the kids upstairs...well thats what they said, personally I think she found little folk to play with her toys and her
The others stayed down here, Skye got a party hat put round her neck, and Tess got red tinsel, Bruce just got the odd piece of dropped mince pie...which pleased him My friend came with her 3 year old who by this time wasn't in the best of moods, but Skye took him under her care and he soon fell asleep on her the others had all the kids to play with......me I was glad when everyone had gone, my god the noise

The dogs had a good run in the morning so they relaxed whilst we had the inlaws for dinner.

In the evening my brother in law came round unexpectedly. The Christmas tree is blocking the front door so we are just using the back entrance. The dogs were barking out the back so I called them in before BIL came through. Polo started grabbing his trouser legs.

This is a first for Polo as he is not usually around visitors until they are settled but BIL is one of the few people that can actually get into our house in our absence. He looked after Polo and Lady when we went away. Polo was very excited at his arrival but I have never seen him nipping at trousers or ankles before and I just told him stop it, I was so surprised. Thankfully BIL is very used to dogs and was unperturbed. Something to be aware of though.

Other than that all was well.

We went over to my Da and stepmum's - along with 13 other people, making 17 humans and 4 dogs in total.

Willow loved it - all these people to climb on, get attention from and generally bounce on. And then the food came out - a buffet table just at her height groaning with 2 hams, potatoes done 3 ways, veg, meats and cheeses, and I was so proud of her. We told her once at the beginning that she wasn't allowed the food, and she didn't steal a single mouthful. That has to be an heroic feat for a 9 month old spaniel.

Soso carefully greeted every person individually, and did some general socialising, and then when the party games came out she went upstairs, and put herself to bed !! I went up a few times to check on her, and each time she was comfy, half-asleep and showing no wish to come down to the noisy party going on.

They both got a meat-heavy christmas remnants plate and the bowls were sparkling clean very shortly after hitting the floor. Unfortunately Soso also helped clear away a dish of sprouts, she only got 2, but 2 for a Papillon produced some truly eye-watering smells overnight.
