Stupid owners, don't they care?!

Ha! interesting! The dog in my post flies at it's lounge window when we walk past in the morning with our two, really crazily, like something possessed hitting his head and things, is it ever corrected, distracted...? No, his owners just giggle, even wave sometimes!!!
A local dog used to do this. Then one day the window was open - and it was never seen again.

I will feel very disgusted with what happened but I guess a bit shameful, too because I let my dog get in that situation...

I would be very angry with myself for letting my dog get into a situation where he was causing unwanted behavior whether I felt it was threatening or not, but put others into a situation that they felt they were under attack.

Ollie can be reactive to some dogs so is always on a harness and long line so I can have him under control and assess the situation if I feel it is a bad call to let him approach another dog I won't allow him.

When he was younger his recall was terrible he would follow any dog so once again rather than have a nuisance dog he was harnessed and on a long line his recall is fine he now can't be bothered with meeting other dogs unless he knows them.

I feel it is my duty to keep him under control he is a large dog his social skills are not as good as they could be and my foremost priority is to keep him out of trouble and causing a nuisance to other humans or dogs.

If someone else's dog decided to attack Ollie I would use whatever force necessary to stop Ollie being hurt.

I try to be courteous and responsible for my dogs actions and hope that others afford me the same level of courteousness. Unfortunately as some of us know a lot of people don't.

Agree completely.

As the owner of a dog aggressive dog, and if for what ever reason she managed to get to a dog and the owner has the foresight to frighten her off with a corrector spray..I would be eternally grateful.

Would I be angry only at myself!!

I'm glad that most had similar feeling to myself - that if the tables were turned I would have been grateful and so apologetic!

If something did kick off (stuff happens you know?)-really not good enough I felt in my situation, why should I have somebody elses aggressive dog threatening, scaring, possibly harming mine (or be bitten back by my dog's mouth - the same size as it's head) THEN followed by ear bashing after it!!!-afterall, I was protecting her dog as much as mine!

I`d be absolutely livid if someone was aggressive to my dog - in any way.
Being aggressive to someone else`s dog (I include spraying, kicking, hitting and PCing) is foolhardy. You`d be better off putting some distance between you and the threat.Putting distance between myself and the dog would have meant running in the opposite direction quicker than the speed of light as soon as I saw the Yorkie legging it towards us from afar-impossible!!!

I'd rather they used the spray than kick out so yes-i agree with them.Theres a lady who walks her dog on the field next to me which is aggresive and she (justifiably in my opinion) uses it to keep other peoples dogs away from hers. She has as much right to excercise her dog wherever she chooses and this is how she stops hers from attacking other dogs.

Well - IF my dog was dog-aggressive and IF it was off-lead and bit another dog, then TBH I would be totally at fault and therefore would be unable to say I'd be angry at the other person trying to protect themselves.

It is up to all dog-owners to have their pets under control, even more so if they KNOW they are dog-aggressive. In this instance the person using that IMO is entitled to. Although, I don't think I'd use it myself in case it provoked the dog into a more aggressive attack.

Maybe it is worse than the spray.......but why should I see my girl continually attacked?
She used to be off lead all the time, and able to play with other dogs..........but she has been attacked so many times, and physically injured. I've had so many vets bills.

She is now always on lead.
She is also muzzled in areas that have a high chance of us coming face to face with other dogs.
All the attacks made her agressive - she's scared so she attacks first.
I do what I can to keep my dog under control, and don't expect to be walking along and having another dog jump in my dogs face!

I don't want to hurt another dog, dogs are my life, but my girl and me come first!
