our hall stairs and landing is done in pale blue with white woodwork, radiator cabinet and bannister, it is a massive area and it looks very smart. i don't think you can have too much blue and also you can always use different shades, i used first dawn by dulux

I have gentle fawn with white paintwork which I am really pleased with.

Blue always feels a cold colour to me, but a pale green with white paintwork does look stunning. I never liked green till I saw it in a friends house, it does look amazing. So I am now going to use it in a couple of rooms.

Stone coloured walls/white paint/ french navy carpet and suite/stone cushions/ Sandersons fabric containing blue/stone/green on the floor to ceiling windows which cover the two end walls. All very traditional

I always pick a limited colour palette of two or three colours and find that works well

Two walls pampas green and two green. Other peoples choice and can't wait to change it. Most probably cream as it needs to be lightened.

White as is the whole house apart from the pine panelling in many rooms.

I rent of course. No living room as such in Ireland. The kitchen is the real traditional living and eating area. Often an old sofa or armchairs also.

Then there is the "sitting room" which is rarely used and then for VIPs etc.

I changed the rooms around and painted the one dark burgundy wall in what was the sitting room white and that will be a spare bedroom as well as workroom.

My arrangement with this landlord i that he provides the paint and I do the work.

If you like green, try "Sophisticated Sage" by Dulux.

I had it on my fireplace wall in my old living room (cream on the other walls) with white woodwork.

I've just painted my new bedroom (all walls) in it, with stained pine woodwork.

Both look gorgeous! It's a really lovely colour.
