the figures were 514,000 signatures for keeping docking. submitted to the SCOTTISH parliament. if in doubt, get in touch with the parliamentary liason officer at the SCOTTISH KENNEL CLUB. Note. we have our own government in scotland now, and the party that voted for a docking ban is no longer in office, they lost the election 3 weeks ago !!

It hurts the pups. Therefore is is right that there is a ban IMO.

some of mine have cried more having a vaccine than being docked,i dont like banding its a crueler way of docking JMO,

Any time i have had my litters docked ive never heard a peep , my dogs make more noise being given there annual booster . or play fighting . I really dont like tail being done with the rubber band its a more cruel way to dock tails just leaving it to rot of ahhhhhhhh no thanks
I too have had people request as to whether there docked or non docked and had people say they dont look right with tails

my dog has whacked his tail, staved it, cut it and possibly broken it in the last 4 years all of which required vets trips and cost to me...... what is he a staffordshire bull terrier and i wouldnt have him without a tail even with all these trips.

there are plenty of "docked" breeds still with tails who never suffer injury and many non docked breeds who injure their tail all the time, so the working dog argument just doesnt do it for me.

docking is done for cosmetic purposes pure and simple. and as much as i love a waggly stumped rottie or boxer i love a waggy whippy tail just as much if not more.

as for the dew claws - bruno also still has his and he has torn it before too - but he still has them and they arent a problem. if he didnt need it evolution would have meant he wouldnt be born with it !!!!

Not really true, because some breeders use a different vet as their own vet wont dock. Therefore the vet only gets the docking fee and the breeder goes back to their usual vet.

well thanks a lot for your lack of support, all you pro dockers. i think there has only been 2 or 3 people that agree with docking on this forum today !!. the puppies i mentioned earlier are almost a year old now, and they've never looked back (no need to,they've no tails)

The idea is to get the client through the doors and then hope they will stay, suppose nothing is fool proof in marketing.

Good to hear their own vets wouldn't do it though
