Final Update - 27 October
I've been waiting a little while before making this update so I could give you all as much info as possible. I also wanted to finish SB's memorial page and make sure John received the parcel ok.
I sent Patterlads sketch and Brundogs CD to John last week, and yesterday he emailed me to let me know he received them ok. He was extremely grateful and said we have some very talented members. He's going to get the sketch framed professionally, and said it was stunning. He asked me to pass on his heartfelt thanks to all concerned and to say how pleased he was to receive the lovely tributes to his darling Lesley.
He went on to say:
I am keeping well enough. I am a little stronger every day, but as you may imagine, I miss my girl and find it difficult to come to terms with my loss. Things will improve, I am told and I am sure they will, but a huge part, if not all of my happiness went with Lesley. However, I take a great deal of consolation from the love which you and the members of Dogsey.com have for my dear girl.
I think all of your messages and tributes have been quite a help to him. I'm sure he will occasionally log-on to Dogsey when he's missing Lesley, and find a little comfort in everything we have done here in memory of her.
Now that all the postal cheques have come in, I have totalled up the fund and we have a very respectable £552. I have told John we have a little something for him, and will be sending him this on Monday. He does not know how much it is yet, but said he was very grateful and
"will try to think of an appropriate way to spend it. Something for Hannah and Jackson perhaps".
I finished Lesley's memorial page last night and will give you the link in a moment, I hope it does not upset you too much. We can visit the page when we miss her and although it may bring back the tears, I think it will help us feel close to her and feel as though she is always here, just a click away.
I want to thank all of you for pulling together - I am very proud of you all and I know John appreciates everything we have done. Maybe in the future he will log-on and update us on how he, Hannah and Jackson are getting on.
I will be removing this section from the forum listing in a few days, but it will still be accessible from a link in SBs memorial page. You can find her memorial page here:
www.dogsey.com/lesley-bruce.htm or by clicking on the link from our homepage.
Again a big thank you to all of you for everything you did, Brundog for the
CD, Patterlad for the
Sketch, Vicki for sending the second card and printout of your
messages, Maplecottage for sending extra flowers, all of you who contributed to the
fund and everyone who took the time to write a message, tribute, poem or idea, and for all the support you have shown each other and John - I'm sure SB would be very proud of you all, as am I.
