Some News (Sunday 24th update)

Hi All,

As you know from a previous update that our flowers were delivered to John on Thursday, I wrote back to the flower company and asked them if they were recieved in person or left at the door.

We got this reply:

Hello Azz,

Thank you for your email.

I have contacted the florist and can tell you that they were left near the front door. Our courier knocked, but didn’t get a response from inside the house. Apparently, all the knocking did was rouse the dogs inside the house. Thinking that the dogs would not be left unattended for long, our courier left the flowers in a safe place near the front door as requested.

Please let me know if there’s anything further I can do.

Kind regards,

Heidi

Which worried us a little bit as we were already concerned about John, the Mods and I decided we wouldn't post this to you yet as we didn't want to worry you all.

We then found SB's training schools phone number and telephoned late last night (about 8am their time) there was an answerphone so I didn't leave a message and thought I would try again later.

I tried again and still the answerphone so I left a message asking if perhaps someone could contact me by email or phone and let us know Johns email or telephone number, and to pass on a message that we are all thinking about him on Dogsey.

I have received a reply from Michelle Elmer (the training school owner's daughter in law), and she wrote:

Hello Azz,

It is Michelle Elmer here. I am Rita's daughter-in-law and am currently taking her calls, as her and her husband are on holiday in France. I am also a neighbour of John's.

Firstly I would like to thank you so much for your beautiful email to John on the passing of Lesley. He was very happy to see that she was well loved by so many people. He showed me your email on Wednesday night and I know that he was very touched by what you wrote. He is doing it pretty tough at the moment as John and Lesley were each others world. They don't have any family here, however friends have been really supportive. I think that you are aware of his heart problems. A friend took him to the Doctor on Thursday and he was given the all clear.

A lot of the Dog School people are cooking up rice and vegies to make packs for him to freeze so that he will have plenty of food for Hannah and Jackson.

The funeral was lovely but very sad. One of Lesley's close friends Raylene, made up a beautiful floral arrangement from John and Lesley's garden. Their garden is something special. I do not know how Lesley managed to look after it as it is huge and amazing.

I have been away for the weekend and only just received your message. I haven't been speaking to John yet but will be visiting him tomorrow and I can find out his email address then if you would like. In the mean time I will give you his telephone number as I know he would love to hear from you. His number is ______ but I think that the number you would need to ring from the UK is ______. If you need anything else you can either email me at this address or my telephone number is _______. Thank you again for your messages and concern

Lesley was a wonderful, kind and elegant lady that will be so sadly missed.
I feel a lot better on hearing this. I am glad John has so many caring people near-by to help him through this very difficult time. It was very nice of Michelle to reply back so quickly too, and I'm glad she is a neighbour who will I'm sure look out for John and the dogs.

As we've missed the funeral, and many people have asked if we could have a minutes silence - how about tomorrow (Monday) at 7pm? It's up to you guys though.

Hi Azz
Minutes silence sounds good to me.
Glad to learn John seems to be doing okay and that he has caring neighbours and friends to help him through his loss. Keep your chin up Azz.

Thanks for that info Azz. Fair play to you for doing all this on our behalf. Good to know John is being looked after. Minutes silence is a good idea and 7pm is ok with me too. Won't be able to log on at that time but will definitely be thinking of her and will respect the minutes silence

Thanks for the update Azz, I know this is a difficult time for you too

It's good to hear that John has so many good friends that care about his well being, and are helping through this very difficult time.

A minutes silence is a great idea. If I can get onto a PC here, I'll be there in thought.
