Would the donations cover the cost of a dedicated kennel at Battersea/Dogstrust/whoever, in Shadowboxers name?

Just an idea

Hi again Azz, Still too stunned so I'll just repeat my earlier thoughts for now as you're getting a lot of good ideas from everyone now.

"Could we maybe get something put up now to allow people to send funds in? An address for cheques or maybe a paypal account or something. Just let me know anyway I can help, as I'd be honoured to do anything. I'm sure if you put up a thread, loads of people will want to contribute and I'm sure there will be good ideas too. Perhaps we could send some flowers immediately and then at a later date when all funds have come in, do something else for John then. How about commisioning Patterlad to do a stech or something like that to send to John?"

Kath X

See you've set up the account, I'll go and chip in now - thanks Azz .

just to say that Patterlad has very kindly agreed to do a sketch of the photo of Lesley with her first ever boxer - shown on the In memory thread.

thanks to you steve for this kindness.

We will pay the postage from the shadowboxer fund.

Maybe the forum dedicated to Shadowboxer could have The Journey poem included in it, she posted it some time ago.
http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?t=1489

Some of it is probably not relevant as it refers to a dog passing away but it is incredibly poignant and obviously something which Shadowboxer related to enough to post.

Just an idea-Ill certainly be keeping a copy of it anyway.

I like the idea of dedicating the Gone but Not Forgotten section to SB. Almost like asking her to watch out for our departed friends until we see them again. Perhaps the section could include a sticky with a little biography of SB and explaining what she represents to us so that new members understand the significance.

I love the idea of paying to dedicate a kennel at a rescue to her as well

Firstly, I must say that I was saddened when I first read the news about Shadowboxer. My thoughts are with her husband, family and friends.

With regard to a memorial, perhaps a permanent Dogsey tribute page made up of some kind if a summary timeline of how Dogweb (and now Dogsey) grew up and how Shadowboxer was instumental in it's development. How she was a good friend and advisor to one and all and I know, having written one article, how much time and energy she must have spent writing her numerous tomes and editing and advising on other articles.

A real world memorial would be good too - perhaps something linked to Boxer Rescue ?

To Shadowboxer .... you are a good 'un, run free and happy.

1. On the header at the top of Dogsey which is obviously at the top of every page, is it possible to add a little boxer with a rainbow over the top - to designate it Rainbow bridge for Lesley.

I am a new member but i also think the idea from BRUNDOG is a great one for some one, who was thought of so fondly.

just a question what are we going to do with the cash raised?
a wreath if the family want them or what about a trophy of some type for dog training as it was a big part of her life.
other than that donated to boxer rescues in her name for the love she had for the breed?
just ideas.
