Ideas please

I've created this section so we can put all the threads for SB here for now and perhaps get some ideas on what we can do.

Lots of people have PM'd me asking about whether we can set up a fund for sending flowers, create a lasting memorial, or setting up a long-term fund for a charity of SB's choice, or something for her husband and dogs.

Please use this to put your ideas forward, in the meantime I am going to set up some options where you can donate/chip-in for flowers with any excess going into the fund which we can later decide what to do - either something for John or her Dogs or her favourite charity or cause.

You can donate by paypal or credit card, if you can only pay by check perhaps you can send one to a trusted friend who can use their credit card to pass on the money. Please go to http://www.dogsey.com/payments.php where shortly some options will appear.

Please also use this thread for suggestions as to how we can use that money and also, what we can do to remember her - some kind of permenent memorial on Dogsey, because it wouldn't have been the same without her.

I'm sorry if I'm not making much sense as I can't think straight at the moment please but ask questions if you are unsure about anything.

I can't think what is an appropriate memorial either Azz. Think it should be something permanent and probably (though not necessarily) something doggy; maybe, in time, John will have some ideas? Maybe Lesley had a favourite charity?
In the interim, thanks for opening the donation pot - we can at least contribute now, whilst we really feel the need to do something, no matter how ineffectual.
I'm sure some of the brilliant members here will have brilliant thoughts as to how we can allow SBs memory to last forever.

I have set the options to varying amounts, nobody 'has' to donate - it's only if they want to.

£2
£5
£10
£15
£20
£30
£50
£100

I think there should be a permenent memorial on the site whatever is decided (in addition to if nesc). Dogsey wouldn't be the same without her and I never want her forgotten.

I'm sure you guys will come up with some good ideas.

its hard to think of something that with everything so raw wont seem tacky or insensitive.

a couple of suggestions though meant in the best possible taste.

1. On the header at the top of Dogsey which is obviously at the top of every page, is it possible to add a little boxer with a rainbow over the top - to designate it Rainbow bridge for Lesley.

2. To incorporate something like Shadow's house in our Gone but not forgotten section where we can post poems etc.

3. A little boxer instead of an arrow cursor ?

4. A permanent fund for charities, and or desperate last chance rescue dogs etc named in honour of Shadowboxer? ( this could also evolve from the fund you have just set up for her)

thats all I can think of just now.

I definatley think a memorial for SB should be placed on dogsey-something to let her never be forgotten, and live on with our new members. Of what the memorial should be i'm not sure...

I agree something permanent should be done, donating to a charity would be a good idea but I dont see how you can choose just one when all of the dogsey charities are needy. A good idea to name a section after her also

I've only just realised what has happened -

I will try to add some ideas when I can think properly, but i do think something for her favourite charity would be wonderful, also a special memorial on here, as I agree she was a very special person and nothing was too much trouble.

The only thing I can think of at the moment Azz is maybe put a memorial on Dogsey's home page.

That's it I'm afraid, I can't get my head round this at all

As a Catsey member, I have only posted a couple of times here, although frequently visit the site. I too have been shocked by the sudden loss of Shadowboxer, she always struck me as the 'mother' figure of Dogsey.

My suggestion would be a "Dogsey" floral tribute in 'words' for her.....or florists can make tributes in any shape these days, so a boxer might be another idea.....Just a thought...

My thoughts and other Catsey members thoughts are with you all at the loss of such a loved member.....
