Terrible News

I've just had an email from John, Shadowboxers husband.

Lesley suffered an aneurysm yesterday evening and was rushed to Royal Hobart Hospital by air ambulance. John has just received a phone call to say the situation is hopeless and that they propose to remove life support. John has given permission.

I am so gutted. Lesley was a huge part of Dogsey, she has been with us since we started and I've spoken to her nearly everyday in that time and saw her more as a family member than an internet friend - and I guess most of you will feel the same.

She's always been there for us, helped so many of us with our dog related problems or even in the times we've just felt down. She kept many of us going and I don't know how I am personally going to cope without her - she has been there for me through so much and always made me feel better when I've been down. I trusted her judgement on every aspect of the dog world and she has helped shaped much of the site as we know it today. Without her we wouldn't be the same.

I've never met anyone so caring and understanding or welcoming. I'm sure she will be missed by everyone on Dogsey - she really was a true star, always helping people, going out of her way to make them feel valued and part of our little family. It's just not going to be the same without her. I'm sorry if this is not making much sense but the tears are streaming down my face and I feel so angry (with life). I wish there was something they could have done I wish she was still here.

I know she loved Dogsey, she took so much pride in everything she wrote for us and was such a perfectionist - she wanted to make sure everything was the best. It was the best, because we were lucky to have her. I feel so sad she's gone.

Our thoughts right now are with John her beloved husband and Jackson and Hannah her two amazing Boxers.

Lesley - if there's any small chance you could see or hear this, I just want you to know how much you were loved and will be missed. You will always be in our, and Dogseys heart.

Here, here Azz Lesley has helped me through so many things privately in such a caring manner. I will miss her so much too. My thoughts are with her family. Thanks for telling us Azz. God bless her.

It's really hard to believe. I'm really shocked and lost for words.

A tribute to Lesley.

Lesley was not only an extremely knowledgable lady, but, she was also very caring and had a wicked sense of wit. So many times she would help me privately with caring and considered advice and support. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her. She even made my little girl (Megan) face light up with a huge smile when she kindly took the time and effort to post her a postcard, some stickers and a story to her. Above and beyond the call of duty or what? I know that she has done much the same for so many of us here on the dogsey family and I for one will never forget her. My thoughts are with her family at this very sad time.

R.I.P Lesley

I dont know what to say, this is tragic news

Say not in grief that she is no more
but say in thankfulness that she was
A death is not the extinguishing of a light,
but the putting out of the lamp
because the dawn has come.

In the short time I've been a member of Dogsey, I've come to realise what a special person she was. Rest in peace dear Shadowboxer.

What terribly sad news. She will be missed so much by all of us. I really don't know what else to say other than our thoughts are with her family at this time. She was one in a million and leaves a big hole in the Dogsey family. We will miss you Lesley.

Oh no.....
Lesley was such a wonderful person. She helped me so much with my concerns for Lennon and Mya's nervousness, always cheered me up when I was down, stepped into the morning post role whilst I was away, and by way of a small thank you, I got a years subscription to Dog's Today so I could post it on to her. She was so pleased I had done this, and admonished me for being "so generous".

The first issue arrived today......

God bless you Lesley, R.I.P. I am proud to call you friend x
