Oh look what I have found. So unusual to find a photo to scan - we almost always used 35mm way back then.
So, meet
Me
My daughter Katie, aged, what?, 6 or 7 months?
Lassie (original name!) rescued from RSPCA, Ashley Heath Bournemouth. Couldn't tell you how old she would be there - maybe 4. We had her about a year or two before Katie came along.
Sissons (b&w cat). (Apparently that's a really funny name for a cat because the vetinary equivalent of Grays Anatomy for doctors is 'Sissons' - we didn't know that when we named him)
Roger - black cat.
All animals long gone. The pic would have been taken in summer 1976.......yes I know I am ancient!
All animals had long and happy lives. Lassie was nursemaid and mentor to Dolly, my long lamented previous staffie, purchased 1982. Having brought up Dinah, my current staffie pup, without the benefit of a canine tutor, I now appreciate fully what a good job she did!
So, happy memories of them all, it's realy nice to see them again
That's right Woofer. Enormous heatwave. Katie was pretty much overdressed in that pic - she spent most of her first summer outside wearing only a sunhat - or a sunhat ad nappy in company!
