Chris, for what it's worth, I would do the same, give Rosie a chance, as long as you can keep her pain free. I had a splenectomy carried out on my old dog , she was 13 and had a tumour on her spleen.I knew she was very old but my vet was happy she was healthy enough to withstand surgery.

My back is troubling me a lot, to the point I have had to call the drs this afternoon and had a mad dash to get some anti inflammatory tablets, I can only use them for 3 days so I am hoping it's better by then
