Casey passed away today.

Well Wed. night was bad but last night was worse. Poor old boy could not get up several times during the night, was yelping and barking continuously. I phoned the vet this morning and she said bring him in. Decision made and he's now on his way to the bridge (where Rianna and Lara are waing.)

Vet did say that dogs with DCM (Dilated Cardio Myopathy) rarely live more than 2 or 3 years after diagnosis. Casey was diagnosd in Feb 2014 so he's made 5 years with us.

I always thought it would be his heart which went first. (A burst wall or artery or similar) but in the end it was his legs which just 'gave up' of course he also had an erratic pulse and severe fluid build up around the heart and on the windpipe.

Has been a horrible day, will try to post a few pics latter.

Oh Harvey I am so sorry.
He lived the days he had with you happily and you and Mrs Losos did everything you could for him.

Run free at the bridge Casey all dogsey dogs gone before will be waiting to help you over.

I am so sorry Harvey. Just remember you gave him a good life and he had a good home to spend the rest of his life in.

Run free Casey you were strong to the end.

Harvey, I am so sorry for you and Mrs Losos, Casey was such a lucky boy to find a wonderful loving home and family and it shows how much care you gave him if he survived so much longer than the usual for a dog with his condition.

Harvey, I am so very sorry to hear that Casey has passed and gone to the bridge. He will surely be met by Lara and the others that went before.

R.I.P. Casey, we shall all miss hearing of you. God bless and run free at the bridge.
