Carrots

Well I never!!!!!
I do not believe Bella has never seen a carrot before she was fascinated yet intrigued. Think she thought orange stick threw it in the air caught it and bite it, and now is addicted. She is a lot like a book whose pages have never being turned.

Chloe hates carrots and the only way I can get her to eat them is to purree them and mix them in well with her food. If she finds a piece of carrot she'll carefully pick it out of her bowl and drop it on the floor to remind me how much she dislikes them!

When I'm preparing carrots I always have to do a couple extra to give to the dogs - the cocker spaniel in particular loves them.

Marco loved carrot when I gave it to him, he did seem a bit bemused by it at first and just played with it.

I have a strange dog. She will chew raw carrots into tiny pieces and leave them scattered around but not eaten, but steamed carrots in her food are, to her, delish! As for raw vegetables, which is what she gets as treats, a whole [peeled] kohlrabi is her #1 favourite, followed by sweet peppers and closely followed by cucumber.

But she does have a lot of lightly steamed vegetables with her first meal, although those are mainly pumpkin and courgettes.

And you really should try Bella with the core of white cabbage and of cauliflower - that is if you do not mind the occasional pongy botty burps!

On second thoughts, my dog is not strange, she is just loopy!

Diesel loves all fruit and veg except lettuce, he'd scoff a whole bag of carrots given half a chance and his absolute favourite is the thick stump from the middle of broccoli.

When there are puppies and they are around 4 weeks I start getting sacks of horse carrots from my wholesalers because it keeps them quiet and out of mischief for ages, they play with them, chew them, argue over them, and then their mother or an older relative comes over and steals them!!!!
