The fact they don't sleep in the house (although as I have said before two actually do) means little or nothing to them - so long as they are getting to fulfil the strong inherent instinct to work sheep each day and are treated with respect and kindness.

You really have no idea!
Really? The last paragraph, really? Given a choice from the outset with no tether, where would they choose to be? From
Puppyhood? I suspect their overwhelming urge would be to bw with the shepherd.
That said, as long as kennelling is well designed and planned for the dogs, I have no issue with outside dogs.

I think this post is a smidge ott though.

Hardly, Someone is slating the way she keeps her dogs and claiming they are not loved or cared for as much as a dog that lives indoors, I think that response was entirely justified!

I`m responding to your post

Why would a dog like that want to share every aspect of some boring human beings life??
Asking if you believe a working dog does not want to be with his owner at all times.

From your post you seem to be saying they dont,

Have you met a well looked after sheep dog??
Do you have any idea the physical and mental stimulation they get on a daily basis?
They were bred for a job and they take pleasure in that job, it's what they strive for!
Do you understand a sheep dog spends it's day with the farmer?

Try taking a well looked after sheep dog and sharing every aspect of your life with it, I can guarantee they would not love or thank you for it!

Do you take your dogs to work then because if you both work 12/16 hours a day, sleep for 8 there's only 4 hours left to spend with your dogs! Thats a lot less time than a WSD spends with a Shepherd.
