Well I got a reply. COA have sent me my report and apologised. No mention of the lack of follow up or the free session I was promised or any sort of compensation (I don't mean finanically, just no "we'll do this to make it up to you" offer) I've been given Roger Mugford's email to submit a formal complaint to.

I'm not terribly impressed with the "report". I don't know how long behaviourist reports are? But for the price I paid I expected something more in depth. My socialisation class wrote a really long detail report packed with advice. This report is maybe 1 and 1/2 A4 in large print and I'd deem it a summary more than anything else. Certainly nothing particularly helpful in it

I am going to complain properly but I have other things to worry about right now. I will take it up later, I hope the gap doesn't go against me but I just don't have the time to pursue this properly right now.

So pleased you finally got the report - even if it is not extensive. Hopefully when more time allows it, you'll be able to write to Roger Mugford. Take care.

Right official complaint submitted on the following points
1. At least 6 emails totally ignored
2. Monthly follow ups not received
3. Five months to receive report
4. Report of very poor standard (I printed it out, basically 1 A4 page)
5. Promised free follow up which never happened

Have asked for full refund. Will keep you updated!

That is disgusting service. I don't blame you for making a formal complaint.

I hope you get a full refund.

Am glad you have made a formal complaint. I think they may offer you some kind of follow up with someone other than Chirag Patel, and maybe a partial refund....?

I saw a picture of Chirag Patel in one of the dog mags - he looks about 17????!!!! Am guessing it's the same Chirag Patel you saw unless there are two behaviourists with the same name?

Oh my god that is disgraceful.

Well I would be absolutely fuming. In this day of recession I would demand a full refund but I would follow up each and every email with as many phone calls as it takes to get an answer.

My favourite line to quote when I am getting a poor service in any regard is that I am a stay at home mum and I can ring on the hour every hour, which I will, until I get satisfaction!!

I really hope you get a favourable response xx

Well, just had a phone call from Roger Mugford himself in response to my complaint. Heard a few interesting things. He apologised profusely, said the report was rubbish and said I could have a full refund. He then offered me a free follow up consultation with him

He said he would come to my house, rather than me going to the centre, as he thought it would be better to see how he acts in real life. I'm inclined to agree. He might even be coming tomorrow afternoon, he's letting me know.

Can't say fairer than that, I'm pleased with the outcome. My only concern is that he's might start rolling out adversives

Glad you've got a good result. Just remember that Cain is your dog and you have the final say in how anyone treats him. If you're not comfortable with something he tries to do, say so, and if he doesn't listen to you tell him to bog off - afterall, it's not like it's costing you anything. Hope it goes well though
