Benj lame and...

Benj has joined the list of the walking wounded and is on three legs. Won't put it down at all and it looks like a cruciate. I am really hoping it isn't and I am being paranoid.

Champa is still wobbly and is suddenly old, also his breathing is awful when he runs now. I will order his epiphem a month at a time now instead of 6 mths.

Celt's front paw is having to be in a boot all the time as it is summer and we are in and out of the house. It splits as soon as he does any kind of running on it and he has big open sore between the pads he has left. I have various boots and strips of velcro, salt water and honey are applied regularly and he has tramadol and metacam.

Coo is getting slow and can't get on beds etc, so I have a system of cushions to help her. I thought her bottom was better but she was at herself again yesterday, nothing anyone can do and I thought the olove oil was working..

Old age in dogs is no place for sissy's either.

Oh dear you are having a time of it with a house full of walking wounded.
Keeping everything crossed Benj has just pulled a muscle and its not cruciate.

Have crossed the line from dog owner to full time vet nurse?

Poor Benj, I also do hope that it is muscular sprain and not cruciate. You certainly have your hands full at the moment and old age is not easy. Sending some positive vibes your way.

Oh what a poor mottley crew you have there? I'm surprised you found time to post and tell us!

I've never thought about the outcome of having a lot of dogs who would 'get old together'. Is there scope for any improvement in any of them?

Poor babies . Old age is awful and, unfortunately, there's not much the vets can do except keep them comfortable.

Hope the leg turns out to be a knock rather than the cruciate

Positive thoughts winging their way across to all of them and masses of hugs for each one x
